Hi SpyWriter, I've been with TalkTalk for a few months now and have had absolutely no problems. However there have been several posts on here recently highlighting negative experiences, including this one:

Try typing TalkTalk into the Search the site box under the catergories list and you should find some more opinions.
Have a look at V21 (if you DO go with them - quote 20061).
I've been with Pipex since early last year. The only problems have been a few occasions when I could not get a connection for about fifteen to twenty minutes. But even that may have been because of my wireless router.
If you are with Orange - don't even consider TalkTalk. We went to change over and got the phone line through okay. We have just had our 3rd MAC code through from Orange and I went into my local Carphone Warehouse to get them to ring it through - as trying to phone TT Support is a waste of time you just get cut off. We found out yesterday that Orange MAC codes don't work with TalkTalk and we would have to cancel our BB with Orange and then set up again with TT. Means we could be without any connection for a month - and that is if it works first time. I am sticking with Orange - and paying for a service that has been okay up to now rather than not paying for something I am not getting.

Sorry to appear stupid, but what is a MAC code?
Migration Access Code - supposedly to ensure a smooth transition from one broadband supplier to another! Big joke
