when ever i try to download it from the website a message comes up saying 'windows cannot access the specified device,path,or file. You may not have the apporpiate permissions to access the item'
what does this mean and what do I do about it?

Are you using XP? Try downloading it from your administrator account if the account you're using now isn't an administrator. Are you just saving it to your desktop for example?

yeah i saved it to the desktop and there's no admin on it

There will be an admin on it, you're probably using it now.

Click start->control panel->user accounts, and see what users it says at the bottom. under whatever one you log in under, it should say "computer administrator". yes?
