Someone I know is having problems joining AB and we can't work out why.He lives at some distance, so it's not practical to check in person what is happening. I run Windows XP, with the facility to link up with other XP users for help, but he has Windows 98. Is there any legal way I can access his PC, with his permission, to sort things out ?

There's a flash demo of LogMeIn on the page I just linked to. I haven't used it, but I've heard good reports.

The other option is VNC at http://www.realvnc.com/ which I have used and I do like. The only problem would be using it over 2 broadband networks, yours and your friends. The routers usually use network address translation (NAT) and this can complicate how you connect using VNC, maybe someone who knows more about networking will come along to explain.
