Could anyone tell me if there is such a thing as free computer security. I usually have Norton but it's �56 and I wondered if there were any good,cheaper alternatives.

i know people will back fire on me for this but i had norton and decided to change to free and had more upset on my computer with them after my norton ran out so i decided to take up the tesco security offer as i have tesco broad band and for months now not had a problem bye the way it is not free.

MY NAV was just up for renewal and this year I switched to NOD32 & Outpost. Cost about the same as NAV, but the reason for my post was that as soon as Outpost fired up, it found 7 spyware programs which NAV had not.

So I am now even less impressed by NAV than I was.
