Can't get CD rom to run on my machine . . .

I recently bought a CD of old megadrive games from ebay. This is the link . . .

However, I can't get it to open on my machine. It says that it is a "BIN" file and when I go to open it, it wants to know what programme created it. Clearly, I haven't a clue, but it gives the option of selecting from a list or using the web to find out.
When I click on the option to use the web, it says that "no known program will open the file" and that "the file is part of a program".
Anyone got any ideas what I can do?

Either the chap intended for you to burn this to a new CD or he didn't burn this one correctly. If you have a CD burner and burning software, you should be able to burn the .bin to a new CD.

Does it have a .cue file aswell?

OK well you need to run the games from an emulator. A good one that I've used in the past has been gens2:

Open the emulator, then load a game file that you want to play.

Though I'd have thought it'd have come with one on the disc. Maybe not though.

You can get tons more roms from that site too. The genesis is the megadrive, btw.

Ah bum - in the gaming section I was advised that buying the CD would be a way of me not having to do the emulator thing because I am clueless/unconfident about downloading stuff.

OK. As Baseley09 said in that thread though, you do need an emulator.

As long as you have some form of anti-virus, you should have no real worries about downloading stuff.
