what do u need to set up a wireless network in a home. have a main pc on broadband and want to be able to connect to the internet with a laptop else where. what would i need to do this?

A wireless router and if the laptop does not have it built in, you will need a network adapter for it.

Note with the wireless router though: these depend on what type of broadband you have.

If you get your broadband through your phone (ADSL), you'll likely want to buy an ADSL modem+router in one, such as this one.

If you get your internet from a cable company like Telewest or NTL, then just a wireless router should suffice because their modems usually connect to the computer with ethernet cables. Here's an example.
