Hi-Fi Surround sound

I bought a new mini Hi-Fi system today, and was surprised when I got it home to find it had no auxiliary ports to take my Sky digital box.

It does as many units now have a MP3 port, which is equally important to me.

I've been researching all afternoon, and cannot ind anything that takes auxiliary ports other than dedicated surround sound systems.

Am I really out of date, or do they simply not include this on most hi-fis now?

If you buy separates then chances are that you will have an aux port on the amp.

Most mini hi-fi systems do not have them.

by auxilary ports do you mean the audio ports for av audio leads (usually red and white)

if thats the cast then ironically the older hi-fi's did seem to have them. If it has a microphone or streo jack you can get stereo to AV convertor leads at most electrical shops.

OK well to convert your standard headphone slot into a auxilary port you will need.

A large to small headphone convertor should look something like this (remember to get the stereo version)

then you need a stereo to av convertor lead.
