Aerial Connection

I've just installed a simple aerial in the loft and to connect it to my hi-fi should I use coaxial cable or, if the intention is to receive as much signal as I can, should I use simple 5 amp lead/loudspeaker wire?

Use the co-ax! If it's a very bad reception area, I have heard it suggested that satellite co-ax is the best (if more expensive) solution.

You can get audio coax from good hifi shops. it has a different ohmage tv coax not really suitable.

Now I'd have used simple twin-flex electrical, as drillhammer said, to get as much signal as possible. When then is it advisable to use coax?

the reason for coax; worker; the aerial is an exact wavelength or halfwave etc and if the wire from it is not coaxially shielded, it becomes part of the aerial, causing an incorrect wavelength and therefore poor signal.
