Hi
I recently bought the sims and i am having problems with downloads. I downloaded a whole load of stuff off the internet, but i can't get it to work in the game. i tried going through the sims website but that was no help. it was a winrar file and i extracted it to the sims file, but nada! what am i doing wrong?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Not necessarily. There are loads of Sims 2 sites with amazing downloads on, you need to go a bit slower than that though. It's best if you've only just got the game to familiarise yourself with it first before you overload your system with downloads.
Okay, when you're ready to download something, it's best to start small like with clothes or genetics. Pick whatever you want to download and extract the file to My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads.
This is very important. It WILL NOT WORK if you put it anywhere else. If you don't have a downloads folder, make one, but call it "Downloads" and put it in "The Sims 2" which should be under "EA Games" in My Documents.
