But as a rough guide I'd say a 3mb audio track - about 40 seconds on broadband and about 5-6 minutes on dial-up.
A movie - about 1-half to 2-half hours on broadband. On dial-up - forget it.

Blimey that's a long time. I don't use BitTorrent, just LimeWire and I get much better results. 10 hours for a film is approaching dial-up speed.

Also, with the stuff you're downloading, how many seeders and peers are there? And where are you getting the torrents from?

You should probably be getting about 2000kbps download, and maybe 384kbps upload or so. Perhaps try it on a few different days because sometimes it can be unusually slow if there's a problem somewhere on the network.
