What do you think of avast for a virus system? Also I have tried to download it but have only found a site where I need to join their membership. Is the membership worth it? Or is there somewhere I can download it without joining ?

I have always used Avast and it hasn't given any problems. Automatic updates - almost daily. When you download the programme, you sign up (free) and get sent a registration code. This should arrive within ten minutes or so. Complete the registration and you will then receive any new updates.

I used to have AVAST and have no complaints but did find getting rid of viruses in boxes a bit of a pain.
I have since switched to AVG Free and highly recommend it.

I switched from AVG Free to Avast after manually discovering a virus in my registry that ACG had not picked up.

I think Avast is great.

The best way to avoid any viruses on the internet is to buy a Mac!

Connected to the 'net for almost 3 years now. NO antivirus software. Not 1 single crash. No problems what so ever.

And before all you die hard Windows users " flame " me to little pieces..... :-)

I am not a gamer. I use CAD and Imaging software. I use spread sheets, WP, and email. Engineering software and yes I live in England.

Get a Mac and forget about having computer problems.
