Yes, me too (as I record most of my stuff from the radio and it tends to be the sort of thing that is not commercially available). My local Currys and Sainsburys still stock supplies.
I came across an old Hi-Fi mag from just 5-6 years ago and it featured several new models of (stackable) minidisc recorder/players and it was then lauded as the next big thing, to replace cassettes!
I believe the only place minidisc really took off was Japan.
The omens are not good:
78s lasted for 60 years
Vinyl lasted for 40 years
CDs 23 years and counting...
