BT 24/7, Outlook Express
5 Answers
We have the BT openworld 24/7 connection and recently used up the monthly allowance. BT sent us an email telling us to download their Pay per minute software from their website if we needed to connect. This worked fine, but now the BT openworld connection is active again (because of it now being the next month) we're having problems.
It specifically said in the email that it would not be possible to connect through the pay per minute software when the Openworld connection was available again.
Connecting to the internet for browsing and using MSN work fine, but whenever my mum tries to check her emails using Outlook Express as soon as it gets to the Send/Recieve screen it disconnects, and comes up with the connection box. The default connection then seems to be the Pay per Minute one, even though the default connection is definitely set as BT 24/7. Connecting through BT 24/7 using this dial up connection box just causes an error message in Outlook Express. We did try connecting through Pay per minute, but this did not work either.
My mum doesn't want to use any other email client, but at the moment is unable to access her email account at all. Is there any way we can fix this without phoning the BT helpline as that always seems to take ages.
Any help appreciated & apologies for length.
