another ipod question

I dropped my ipod mini (old style - not the thin ones) on the pavement this morning (doh) and now when I turn it on you can see all the songs but when I go to play and it'll look as if it's about to play the first song but then flick on to the next one. And then look as if it's about to start playing that one and then flick onto the third, and so on. It also reacts incredibly slowly - so when I press a button it takes a minute to actually perform the command.
I think the technical term for it's current state of mind is ********, but I wondered what my chances are of fixing it? Is there a reset button anywhere, that I can try?

If that doesn't help, try using the iPod Restore function on your computer (if you've updated to iTunes 7 it's within there, otherwise it's a separate program that came on the iPod disc).
