No, don't bother - providing your friend has access to power points every few days, recharging would be far better.
I had one of these a few years ago when I went cycling in Holland and it was rubbish. Aside from looking like an idiot winding it, I'd have probably had to do it for ages and ages for it to be any use.
Maybe if they are going camping or backpacking, then it would be OK as an emergency power source, but apart from that, no.
hi postdog... thanks, it's more for cycling and sometimes going rural in a campervan. I don't know anyone who has one, but my wind-up radio works really well, which made me think of this gadget. Oh well!
I have to agree with Post Dog. Spent a whole hour once when I used to be at college winding my phone up. After an hour it only managed to be able to turn itself on before cutting out again!!
