viao laptop???

hi there my viao laptop keeps closing down on its own .... ive recently(yesterday) upgraded my memory to a 1 gb but prior to this my laptop was ok??? does upgrading have anything to do with this prob???

It might have if you haven't installed it quite right. I have seen (felt!) a VERY hot laptop because the RAM was not quite inserted correctly. Anyway...first check your computer reports the correct amount of RAM (right click My Computer...Properties....it should say at bottom if it is 1GB. If not re-install RAM module again ...but if so then check Power options hasn't reset itself by unplugging the mains lead, right click on battery icon and select Open Power Meter ( I think) and see what options have been set...maybe yours has gotten set to hibernate after 5 mins or power down after 5 mins etc ?
