MP3 problem

I have just installed a Venturer 40gb MP3 player onto my Windows XP PC. When I first plugged it in the bottom right of my screen told me that:
1. HHD device found
2. USB mass storage devise found
3. Devie installed and ready to use
However when it click on the E:\ in my computer, I get a error message telling me The file path is unreachable or corrupt. How do I stop this and access the E drive?
