Is this site moderated?

It struck me the other day that posts appear immediately here but there is rarely a cross and never a vulgar word printed. Also some questions which would lay the enquirer open to distasteful responses on other sites are answered here in a spirit of sensitivity and helpfulness, albeit with a smile too.So...do we enjoy the services of the world's fastest moderator or has this site only been found by decent, cultured, people and if the latter is true, how can we keep it that way?

HAHAHAHAHA--- you must have missed the recent "exchange" of views on this very subject....there is a single directorial editor who posts under the moniker AB editor but also posts personal views under the username of mikewith. BTW I hope you get her fast because if his past performance is anything to go by this will be edited very quickly so if this doesn't make sense and you see the small "Edited by A/bank" box in the bottom left then you'll know the Big Red PEn has been out again.

I missed the exchange and have never seen the edited box. Come on mikewith, join the converstion if this is true nad how do you keep up if there is only one of you..can i borrow your cloning machine??

woofgang - Yes, the site is moderated. I would tend to agree with your suggestion that most of the people contributing to this site are indeed decent and cultured. I think it's a great shame, personally, if and when people take advantage of the site or post demeaning or offensive comments, but sft42 has stated on many occasions that s/he doesn't want to know my opinions, so I'll shut up.

Mike, It has probably lapsed into the mists of time but one of the very first threads I joined into on this site was Re: The situation in Northern Ireland and I was lambasted on the site for expressing an opinion which I was one of the few qualified to give having lived there for a number of years.....However I was most supportive of ALL users right to express their opinions and Views and still do....While we may not always agree (BTW I hope you noticed I did stick up for you in the recent Leeds football question?) I fully defend the right of all users to have their opinion heard.....So speak up yer at yer grannies!
