Is it possible to downgrade, so to speak , itunes from 7.0 back to the previous version as when i'm using it & change applications the songs sound like they're on an old scratched LP, even happens when i follow links on a web page.
Do you have the blue "Q" for quicktime in your taskbar, bottom-right of the screen?
If so, right-click it, and click "quicktime properties"
In the "audio" tab, make sure it's set to 44.1kHz rate, and size to 16 bit. My settings also say stereo for the channels, and quicktime music synthesizer.
Hmm ok. Try uninstalling both iTunes7 and Quicktime, restarting, and then downloading the latest iTunes (7.0.1) from Apple's website. They have fixed some bugs; this may be one of them.
wel li've just opened itunes & it says "new version 7.0.1 is available " but it won't download .Can't download update of zone alarm either .Am i missing something really obvious ? I've not had a good day
Hi sorry I haven't replied earlier. No, your music won't disappear. All your music and iTunes settings is stored separately to the program itself, so you're fine. Make sure you uninstall both iTunes and Quicktime though (they're separately listed in add/remove) -- iTunes is just a nice organising program that actually uses Quicktime to play the music.
hi bimbim, I was wondering how you resolved this problem? only I've just upgraded to version 7.0.1 and now I have no playback through itunes... apple have messed up big time I'm getting SO fed up with this cr4p!! :D xx
