disk defragmenter

I was just wondering if anyone knew if I could use disk defrag and the internet( internet explorer or email etc). Something tells me that I shouldn't use any programs until it's done. Thanks very much.

It's best to not use any programs while you're doing it.

Note though that moden filesystems don't need defragging that much. Once a month or every few months is fine. Leave it on over night one time when you aren't using the computer.
