What does 'High Definition Ready' mean on TVs. Does it mean that it is a high definition Tv, but no-one transmits HD yet?

Sky already transmit HD output on some channels, so I think do NTL/Telewest.

Basically a TV picture is made up of lot of lines. Current TV is 625 lines, HD increases the number.

A HD ready TV NOT attached to a HD signal will NOT show the picture in HD, it needs a HD signal to show full HD.
