How do you decrease the upload speed in UTorrent 1.4?

My upload speed is double the download speed which makes for agonisingly long download times. I've tried the settings myself but in spite of clicking into all options can not see any key or instruction that's relevant to adjusting upload speeds.

Any ideas anyone?

bit torrent works by sharing so your upload speed needs to be high in order to give you a better download speed.
maybe the torrents you are downloading are low seeds so this is why your download speed is low ?

Hi Mattk, thanks for your answer. It's just me being thick but I'm not very familiar with all this stuff. It's so frustrating - I feel like I need someone here in the room with me which is why I post questions on this site - everyone's really helpful. I'm sure you must be right. Under "Seeds" it says 15 (55) - what does that mean? 15 people are doing what out of 55? What are the 15 doing that the 55 aren't or vice-versa? Under "Peers" is says 27(200). Without knowing what the variables mean I can't understand whether that's good or bad!!! Yes I know - I should probably go on an IT course.

basically there are 55 seeds available of which you have connected to 15 and the same for the peers.
many downloads from bit torrent only arrive at about 20k/sec but i am on a 4 meg line but i have learnt to live with it !
