I use ipod shuffle it holds enough music to keep me happy, it is basic it use so when you running you are not distracted too much, and you can get accessories such as an armband so you can attach your ipod shuffle to you upper arm or keyring attachments or round the neck attachments- would bounce around a bit though. I have been given the arm band attachment it looks good but have not tried it yet. All in all goog choice so yes would recommend.
Depends which iPod. Nano and shuffle are both solid state. Original iPod has a hard drive, not suggested for jogging.
If you only want it for jogging, and aren't interested in the Nike+ system, then the shuffles are cool. Very. very small. Otherwise, if you want to use it for other trips too so want a screeen etc., get a nano. Both are aluminium-clad, so will stand up to stuff.
