This sounds like a scam. Don't give out any information about your account.

its a propper paypal mail, they havnt asked for any info just to log on and sort it.cheers though.
If you typed your password /username into the link in the email change them straight away before these people raid your account

there was no link just told me to go to the web site and log in.
It still sounds like a scam. Play safe and alter your login details.
I'd agree with the above. If there's any sort of link on the email, don't click it. Go yourslelf and type in paypal.com. If anything is wrong with your account (I doubt it), it'll say right there once you've logged in.

Otherwise, it's spam. I get a few of these each day.
More precisely of course, a phishing attack. If you've contacted paypal, then they may ask you to forward the email if they want to look into it.

changed my password, there was no link though or anything asking for info.ill no for deffs when paypal get back to me.cheers all.
I agree with others that this looks like a scam.

How did you check that 'it's a proper PayPal mail'? Did you check the originating server? If not, do this:

Open the mail fully (i.e. double-click on the subject line, so that the mail has its own window. Don't just read it in the preview pane).
Go to File > Properties. Then select the 'Details' tab.

Look at the 'Received' line. It should say something like 'from email-86.paypal.com'.

If the domain 'paypal.com' is in that line, then it's possible (or even probable) that the mail is genuine. If the domain name doesn't appear, then it's absolutely certain that it's a fake.

This is highly unlikely to be a scam.

If you have had a lot of transactions, or one or two high value transactions, in a short space of time, a Paypal alert will be triggered where they look into possible money laundering activity.

Phone them between 6am and 10pm on 08707 307 191
