i've worked out the webpage design business, and have done the ftp bit, but when i check my page nothing is there. I go to the user admin bit and it says i have used some of my space. I have no idea what to do now!

is it on a page called index htm?
answerbok may be right, but it needs a little more explanation if you are new to web design. You need to call your main page index.htm or default.htm (or html) as these are the only names that are recognised by browsers without typing the page name as part of the web address.

thank you! problem solved!
Whilst index.htm or default.htm are the rule of thumb, they're not the only files that can be served by default. It's up to the administrator of the web server as to what files can be used as default files, and in what order they should be used. Other common ones include index.html, default.html, index.php, index.asp and index.asp. Basically anything goes... on this site files with a .go extension are defined as being scripts (I reckon PHP or ASP) and the default seems to be a file called home.go
