My next big investment is going to be a tv, so obviously the one i buy is going to be a decent one i'm not going to upgrade for years, But i'm confused with all the types around at the moment. theres Plasma Lcd tv, HD ready which is the best one to buy thats going to last for years with an excellent picture that i can also enjoy playing my xbox 360 too.

hi, im a flat panel technician and repair plasma and lcd tv's for a living,it depends on several things as to what to get ,the size being the biggest factor, each type has advantages and disadvatages, plasmas for example can suffer from screen burn caused by stationary logos on screen for any length of time and lcd's although much improved can suffer from "lag" ie a fast moving ball for example can have a tail behind it also make sure your new tv is hd ready and not just badged hd, sky movies have copyguard encryption and only hd ready badged sets will show movies correctly there are problems watching sky hd movies on sets marked as "hd" only
finaly the old saying"you get what you pay for" very much applies to theses tv's
