Can anybody tell me the difference between the two as far as performance goes. (Please do not use jargon or initials please, as I find it confusing.) I have a desktop computer, use broadband with a BT line and want to go wireless. I know with a USB adapter you do not have to open the PC to place in a card and that the USB is cardless.

Thanks.

You ask us not to use initials but you use USB, PCI, BT and PC.

Strange.

That is because I know what they stand for - other terms I may not. I do get your point though!
As you say, PCI is inside your computer, and USB just gets plugged in outside.

Technically, USB requires slightly more memory allocation than PCI does, but this is pretty much negligible.

And I know I've just used technical language, but what I'm saying is that it doesn't matter for wireless internet! Get which ever you like. PCI is easy to install anyway, but if you don't fancy messing round inside the PC, get a USB adapter.

Thanks fox3nix for your assistance. I am trying to go wireless and all the information I seem to find assumes that I am a 15 year old computer geek who wants to use more than one computer or can understand all the terms, initials and technologese that can be thrown at you!
