Unautherised download on my PC
4 Answers
I`ve been having a very annoying problem of late. A sex program called 'Live girls' keeps installing itself onto my hard drive whilst i`m on the net, though i`ve never requested it and it doesnt allow me to prevent the download. I`ve tried deleting it from the hard drive and register, but it keeps coming back.
Does anyone have any idea how i can stop this from happening?
Many thanks. Lorna

Check your browser security settings and make sure they are set up to warn you before it downloading signed active x controls. For IE you can find it on tools, internet options, security. Active X controls have full control on your PC - so you should only allow them to be downloaded if you know what they are. If you haven't got the above setting then they will just be downloaded in the background whenever you visit a page that includes the control
Also something like McAfee firewall will warn you when any program tries to access the internet, when this program tries to do it simply tell the firewall never to allow it to connect. That way you know that it could never actaully manage to connect. Having said this both the previous answers are important steps in preventing it comming back
