Intentionally left blank?

Just been hacking apart an ebook and couldn't help noticing that all the blank pages had ''this page intentionally left blank'' on them.

Can't get my head around this, is there a specific term for the act of writing ''this page intentionally left blank'' on a blank page, thereby negating the fact that it's a blank page?

Thanks ... Naz x

it should really be on the page before it saying "the next page is intentionally blank" but i alsways wondered about that when doing exams!
Hey Naz ~ how you doing? Haven't seen your name around for a while.

hey samuel ... i'm fine ... haven't posted much on here since the changes took place, it's too tedious wading through all the sub-cats now ... hope you're ok?
You sometimes find this in legal docs as it stops confusion as to whether or not you have the whole document which can be crucial.

Can be confusing if there are pages numbers.

ah, but why not just leave out that page?
Yeah am fine TY. Totally agree with you re. the sub categories. They are a pain. Like the 'Question Author' change though. Going to watch M.O.T.D. in a min so have a good w/end. BFN
think its something to do with publishing...there has to be an even number of pages or something...thats why at the end of some fiction books theres loads of blank pages
