I have recently been thinking of switching from dial-up to broadband.

In my area there are only a limited number of companies that offer "unlimited" broadband {needed for a family of 4 using the internet}

So far I've only seen Eclipse Broadband, but I don't know about their reputation.

Does anyone use them and if so what are they like. If not are there any unlimited alternatives {not Toucan} for an ASDL only area.

i live in a remote part of cornwall.i use eclipse broadband.
nothing but praise,set up was quick & efficient,technical support first class & so far (touch wood ) no problems.
from my experience a highly recommended service.
Changed to eclipse about 6 momths ago. Was previously with supanet and had no end of problems. Have had no problems so far with eclipse. And seeing as half the people in my village are struggling to get a phone line working properly, I see that as quite a result.
Come to think of it, their phones started going wrong about 6 months ago.... ;-)

Thanks you two, it seems that Eclipse really does have a good reputation.

I've read that 80% of it's customers come from word of mouth and it offers a month to month contract which is rare to see.

:D
yeah, but you'll need to sign up for a year to get a free modem.
If you go for the monthly, you have to buy your own equipment. I joined on the basic unlimited one - 14.99, and haven't found any problem with it. Not really sure why you'd need the more expensive ones.

I don't think that I'll be on the monthly contract.

I've recently taken up guitar which I can happily practise whilst I wait for Wanadoo to load up the pages on this thing.

So the yearly contract with Eclipse it is then.
