Of course! It's outputting more power, so it must be getting it from the battery! Although, in the case of CD and Tape, the motor will use significantly more power than the amplifier, so you may not notice it much.

i was wondering because i didnt know if the sound was produced at a lower volume and amplified afterwards, or sent out at a higher volume and cut down before going in the earphones...
