windows lock,password

i recently bought a dell laptop from ebay but when i switch it on it comes to a point where it asks for a name and password to log on to windows this appears in a small square box in the middle of the screen,and i cannot get hold of the person i bought it off although i have reported them to ebay,does anyone know how i can get past this lock...cheers....

If I were you, I'd just scrub the whole machine, and rebuild it. But for this you need the original Windows (& other software) disks and some technical knowledge.

Whilst breaking in is possible, it's not simple. Even when you're in, you've no idea what evil software has been left on it for you.

Start it up in safe mode, tap the F8 key, then this allows you to go into control panel and change the user settings as it allows you to be the administrator........... i have just done this to my daughters pc (shes 8 ) and had forgotten her password.

I tried this, out of curiosity. It asked for the administrator password. So if you don't know this, how do you get in?

Hi just had the same problem with a dell computer of a friend of mines. Go to http://www.password-retrieval.com/ and you can download the software which goes onto a CD (floppy is available too) after you have put it into the dodgy computer to get the rest of the info, you have to pay $29.95 about �16 (payable by paypal) and it will show you how to do it . I've just done it, if your computer is worth saving the �16 isn't bad good luck!

I would suggest you to recover the password by windows 7 password reset tools. Windows Login Recovery is one of such tools. I used a password recovery tool windows login recovery, download it and install it in a computer of my laptop. http://www.windowslog...ssword-recovery.html. Then burn a password reset CD/DVD or USB flash Drive by following its guide. Finally I got my windows 7 password reset. No data loss at all.
