AOL Spyware Protection....What's wrong?

Hello. I have AOL software protection on my computer. I downloaded the latest upgrade today. However, the last few days including after I installed the upgrade, every time it tells me there are spyware/adware items on my computer, I choose view results as normal, but the pop-up window closes itself without showing the other window with the said programs thus not allowing me to restore or delete the necessary files/programs or whatever. Why is this?

Phone AOL - however it'll be a nightmare.
AOL have poor software and customer service.
I've quit AOL, and I am switching to Orange Broadband.
Download a program like Spybot (www.spybot.com) and then update it as soon as you open the Spybot program.
