I am a bit clueless regarding wireless routers. I have a HP Pavilion notebook which I bought in April so is still reasonably new.

I use Virgin as my ISP and currently have a USB Speedtouch modem supplied when I signed up to them.

I use a ASDL filter on my standard phone socket, also supplied when I signed up.

I do want to get wireless, prefereably as cheap as possible what should I be buying?

Thanks.

A wireless router and an ethernet cable, if you don't already have a spare one.

The cable is often supplied with the router..
The ethernet cable would go between the modem and the router. Just thought id clear that up. Unless your notebook has built in wireless, you will need a wireless adapter to plug into your notebook. Its what communicates with the router. I think they are around $50.
