I have just got a new Ipod Nano for xmas and have been trying to install Itunes for the last 4 days with no sucess. I have been logging onto the apple /itunes website and clicking the download itunes 7.0.2 it looks as if it is running but then after 3 hours (on dial up) I get this message c:\Documents and settings\peter\local settngs\temporary internet files\ .....\ itunes setup.exe is not a valid Win32 Application. I have tried to also run the download by saving the download in a different file, this looked like the download had been sucessful but Itunes is no where to be found on my PC so it didn't work either. Very frustrated as everyone was telling me how easy Ipods are to get working! Thanks in advance for any help!
We have broadband and it took minutes to download. However, a friend is having the same problems with dial up and has basically been doing all her downloads on my sisters computer.
It's not an Apple issue, it's a dialup issue. You can often have problems on dialup when downloading larger files, for a variety of reasons. To stop this, you can get download managers. If you use firefox as your browser, than you can add a very good one to this called downthemall:
