Windows Defender Problem

"Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused Windows Defender Service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support on how to start a service manually"

Eh?

restarting doesn't work.
have tried system restore - makes no difference
can't find anything in Help and Support

It only started yesterday, and initially froze the mouse pointer, but that works now. Running XP (pro I think).
Any ideas anyone?

lol. Maybe not actually. I did a windows update earlier but it hasn't affected it. It's only one PC too. I'll have a look though. Ta

JerryB is correct in what he says, but unlike the Beta version, the final one requires the dreaded Microsoft validation of your OS.
