Can't rip an audio CD
Whenever I get a new CD I always rip the tracks I like most and add them to my MP3 collection on my PC.
There are CDs out there that have copy protection on them making this rather difficult. So far I've been lucky and only had a handful of CDs like this and I've been able to find and download the tracks from the net.
I've just bought a CD and I've discovered that my PC wont even recognise that there's a CD in the drive and I can only find a couple of the tracks I like on the net.
All I can think to do is to put the disc in a CD player and connect it up to my PC with a digital audio cable and record it that way. Pain in the arse though.
So my question is does anyone know of any simple ways of ripping a CD when copy protection prevents a PC even seeing the disc? Are there any hacks that can make these discs readable?
