what is the best music site to download from?

http://www.winmx.com ....WinMX I have found to be the best of all the file sharing programmes on the net...it has a much easier interface and allows you to keep multiple searches open at anyone time, it will automatically re-seach for you at intervals you specify, you'll get a lot more matches then on kazaa.....just a far better system all round...If you need any help in getting it up and running then check these two sites for info

This subject was covered not long ago.I respect sft42's view on this subject, but like anything else in life not all people perceive things the same. I see KazAa-Lite as the best overall performer, having tried many others. Winmx would be number two though. All of these sites have their plusses and minuses and it comes down to trying some for yourself.

I would have to go with robber1 and say kazaalite. It tells you how many kazaa users are online at the time, the most its been is about 4.3 million getting bigger by the month, giving you a good chance of finding a song you might have trouble finding elswhwere.

Ok then practical test time...rather than opinions here are figures...Search for Peek A Boo WinMX - 140 hits...Kazaa - 2 hits......Search for Hucklebuck W - 56 Hits...K - 5 hits.....Search for Christy Moore W - 525 hits...K - 52 hits.......Nearly without exception everything I have searched for has more users with the files available on WinMX....each to their own but I can't see that there's any comparison to be honest.

P.S. the above thing happened to be one thing I am searching for and two others picked at random from my mp3 list...try it yourself and if you have any doubts.

sft42; Again I have to accept your opinion but there are two sides to this. Quantity is not always quality. When I used Winmx I got many hits as you say but it tells you that 100 users are in the queue (for example and not an exageration). Broadband users sometimes "cut-off" 56K users because they are holding things up. That is why I said that OVERALL, I think KazAa is best, but they both have good points.Neither of us are wrong. Thats why we all like different cars, we are different.

my opinion; wimx best. i've heard reports of dirty downloads, bugs and viruses and other in Kazaa but not in winmx, however it's a free choice and more the merrier i say.

I had lots of trouble with KazAa do to what Answerbok says. I then changed to Winmx and then to KazAa-Lite, which has been trouble free for a year now. I agree though, the more opinions the better for all concerned.

OK, and here's my two penn'orth.

I've tried WinMX, KazaaLite and E-donkey, and have found that they all have good points.

WinMX is by far the best for finding music files.
E-donkey for videofiles (although WinMX comes a very respectable second)
KazAa for programs/warez/utilities.

So I still use all three, dependent on what I'm looking for. Hope this helps in some way
