I'm trying to set up a friends network - he's bought a router which has has an RJ45 input to 4 RJ45 outputs. However, the modem attached to the phone socket outputs via USB. Can anyone tell me if I can buy a converter to go from USB B to RJ45 or would it be easier to buy an ADSL modem that outputs via RJ45. If this is the case has anyone got any suggestions of a decent one to buy? Thanks in advance. Carlos

Routers need to be connected via ethernet (RJ45) - anything else is too slow.
Take the router back and exchange it for a modem/router.

In addition to Ethel's answer, I personally prefer Linksys, but Netgear is also a good make.
