Last year a very close family member died in a car accident and I need to access their hotmail but can not find the password for their hotmail account - any ideas on how I can get that information as I need to check the hotmail account for old important emails that have been sent to it in the last 6 months.
You could click "forgot your password" and then when prompted get the email notification sent to another address, if they were close i'd gather you would know probably what the answer to their secret question was as it does ask you. Other than that if they had a cookie stored on thier pc you could access it from there then the password isnt needed.
Sorry for your loss.
I could be mistaken, but I think if you do not access Hotmail Account for 30 days all Emails are automatically deleted. Hope I am wrong.
"If you don't sign in to your Hotmail account for more than 30 days, or within the first 10 days after signing up for a new account, all messages, folders, and contacts are marked for deletion, but the account name is still reserved. If the account stays inactive for a further 90 days, the account name is permanently deleted."
