When I use my desktop computer I can see when I have received e-mails.How can I let my laptop tell me when I have received mail also?

Could do with a little more info really, how does your PC tell you that new mail has arrived? What program do you use for mail?
Without this info, best advice might be to download a little program called poppeeper, here then you can configure that in a number of different ways to tell you that mail has arrived. It's free
