preview pane in outlook express
4 Answers
in outlook express start screen there are 4 window panes. I. top left entitled folders
2. bottom left entitled contacts
3 top right entitled from/subject/received.
4 bottom right which i call the preview pane.
If i clicked on and highlighted a received email in the top right pane the message would show in the bottom right preview pane. It doesn't any more.
If your still out there puzzles i took your advice and deleted outlook express and reloaded a new version from the net which got my contacts to show again.

Do you mean that you can't see the preview pane, or that you can see it but nothing appears in it?
If the first, then click on View/Layout and check the box "Show preview pane"
Personally I recommend turning it off as it effectively opens e-mails even if you just want to delete them (for example if they contain malicious code). As such it constitutes a potential security risk.
