PS2 games

My kids had a PS1 but now want a PS2. I know in March the new one comes out but will they still make games for PS2 after that? I remember when the PS2 came out a few months later you could hardly get games for the first one. will this happen again?

the ps2 is a great consol. games will still b made for it i recon. dont forget you can still at least buy games off places such as 'www.amazon.co.uk'. a game is a game, and there are some great games on the ps2. thing is, there always gonna be bringing out more and more games, and each is gonna be better then the one before. kids are so fussy! a new game is a bit like the latest craze- they see, they want. bottom line, ps3 is more expensive, but probably better, but ps2's are fine. i have one. u can play cd's, dvd's ps2 games...what more do u want?? ps3 is a glorified ps2.

a perfect review - the ps3 is probably better than the ps2!
I would suggest visiting a site such as play.com and checking their 'coming soon' list for ps2.they have games listed as far as June only which may mean that things are drying up after then.

Although the big games (Resident Evil, GTA, Tekken etc) have all made the switch to the next generation, I would be surprised if there aren't plenty of games due between now and Christmas at least. Especially when you consider the amout of PS2 consoles in peoples homes. Publishers aren't going to just ignore such a huge market.

Thanks for the answers. I will get them a PS2 as they seem to be going for a great price now (less than �100).

Online stores should offer you a good choice of PS2 games.
Maybe you can try eBay too, because he most recent games won't necessarily be the best.
