I accidently left a bottle of Sprite in my handbag and the top was loose, by the time I got home the whole lot had splilled inside and my poor spellchecker was drowned, cant afford another, I tried drying it out but the "waterlevel" of sprite could be seen on the screen.
RIP spellchecker- you have severed me well, especially with anagrams.

Have just observed the obligatory 2 minutes silence Dee, and now wonder if an 'on-line' anagram site would serve you equally well. There are several of them, including the following ....
With the 'sprite' on the screen, killing off your anagram solver..did you send for a 'priest'?!
What a shame...they are great to have aren't they.
Maybe it mignt dry out eventually, if not you will have to work your answers out 'per its' friend the computer!!
Good morning Sarumite!...you got some grief yesterday didn't you about the C....shh....!
Hi Pauline ... enjoyed every minute of it .. as they say if you hand it out you must be prepared to take it ! Trouble is I'm having problems with AB site now .. see my post above.

many thanks for all the nice tributes.
must organise a memorial service at Argos where it came from, any suggestions for the hymns ?
Sprite the good sprite?
If it was Christmas time...you could have .Silent Sprite.
I was just thinking, I'm sure there'll be a free downloadable shareware version of TEA on the web somewhere, its about 25 to buy, byt it is excellent !
Apparently it may not be too late - remove the batteries and was the spellchecker - but do leave it to dry out for about a week before you put new batteries in it - you have nothing to lose by trying this - good luck - I know I'd be lost without mine.
sorry should have read WASH not WAS
Dear Dee Sa, I accidentally dropped my (Nokia 3310) down the bog pan after cleaning it (the pan, not the dog & bone). As I bent over to press the flush lever. It disapeared for some seconds, before escaping from the U bend back into sight. After fishing it out, & turning it on, it buzzed & flahed like the Delorean in Back to the Future, then died. I took it apart & it took 4 days to dry out. That was two years ago & it`s worked perfectly ever since. I think the Daily Torygraph often offers a Crossword / spellchecker/ anagram solver/thesaurus for 19.99, which seems a good deal to me if your pshcelelrlk is really dead. Good luck!
I've been checking how cheaply you could buy the spellchecker which I use

The Franklin Chambers CWR 108

I'd recommend it and it's on Amazon at 15.49

which qualifies for Free P + P

many thanks for all the kind replies---
sprite thte good sprite really tickled me.
I have now removed batteries, have bought new ones, they will always come in handy somewhere if it doesnt work, I have decided I must give my spellchecker a name to have a decent burial --PENELOPE---[she was clever so therefore female]
Anyway Penelope is in "intensive care" on the radiator, hoping she will come back to life with suggested resuscitation ---if that word is not spelt correctly its because I havent got Penelope --boo hoo--.
I really must get a life !!!
I hope when 'penelope' dries out and you 'peel open' the cover, and take a 'lone peep'..that she is restored to her former glory!
