Lost Passport
5 Answers
Not me, my dozy daughter, she last had it when she landed at Manchester from Benidorm last June. Since then she has not needed it. It is nowhere to be found and so as we are going away end of June she has asked me to sort it out.. I have reported it as missing online and the Passport office have sent a form for her to fill in, but it is asking for the passport number.
I have looked on every ticket, holiday receipt and document I can find for the last 3 years and I cannot find the number on anything, I even still have all the luggage labels, where will i find the number?

Probably the vast majority of 'lost passport' forms, submitted to the passport office, are from people who haven't got a clue what the number was. This doesn't prevent them from being issued with a new passport. Simply write 'Not known' where the form asks for the number.

Has she ever had to have it photocopied as ID for anything? If she's used solicitors for anything then they may well hold a photocopy on file.
Could she ever have copied it herself? When I go away I leave photocopies with someone trusted in case it's lost or stolen when I'm away.
Failing that would the passport office give it to her if she can prove her identity to them, even by going in person to the passport office in Liverpool?

Just had another thought, they may be able to arrange to ID her and give her the number through their "high street partners":
- selected Post Office branches, and
- selected Worldchoice travel agents.
There's a postcode search here...
