What is the free Wired Router you get with BT Broadband? Is it basically a modem and a router for broadband? Does it allo you to connect to broadband or do I need to get a separate modem? cheers

Think you'll find that in the world of home computing - router, modem,switch/hub are generally regarded as living in the same device.- and often the modem part isn't even mentioned as part of the package.

I'd be surprised if this isn't the case here also

the only real exception is the "access point" which in effect adds wireless into an existing setup as opposed to the wireless router which is all-in-one

so, it is a modem that I get with BT?
I got one (option 3 though with the phone). You get a wireless router/modem. It's only limitation is that there are only two ethernet ports but it does for most people. It also insists on setting up security for you (which is a good thing).
