I suppose I am not alone in receiving approx 60 spam emails per day. They have stupid, non-sensical titles like "reimbursement quesy", and are quite obviously rubbish. My question is - what is the point of them? Are they all just viruses in the attachments? How can I stop them. They are an utter waste of time!

Thanks!

I wish it were that easy... They all come from totally different addresses.
Unfortunately you must do each one separately.

They are not only from different addresses but not even addressed to me but I still get this sort of thing about 20 a day for USA stock market or prescription drugs.
Yes what is the point of them ?

I can't change my email addresses unfortunately, as I run a business. This is why I get so many.

But please - yes - what is the point of them?

Are they all viruses?

What have the senders to gain from them?
Most are not viruses themselves, they simply serve to hog bandwidth and advertise something. However, up to 80% are sent from unprotected (no anti-virus software) PCs. It is not usually possible to block the Sender as the addresses are spoofed.

But, the good news is there are some excellent free spam-blockers available. Look at this and you should remove 90% of your spam problem:
