I have Mcaffe Antivirus and AOL spyware protection installed on my computer. Recently however my computer has started giving security alerts saying spyware found and loads of harmful virus' have been found on my computer 'click here for a free scan' and then wanting me to buy their antivirus or spyware protection. My current software which is up to date says i have no virus' or spyware problems so how do i stop the stupid security alert things? I think its slowing my computer down aswel. Any help appreciated.

Never click on these annoying popups, as they will always tell you you have loads of virus'.even when your pc is fine.
You need a popup blocker to stop them.
Go to www.downloads.com and type Popup blocker in the search field. There are loads of free ones available.

I doubt very much that a simple popup would slow down your PC.You probably just need to do some PC housekeeping.
Download spywareblaster. Get rid of Mcaffe and install AVG (which is far superior) go into start/run and type in msconfig then go to the startup choice and uncheck AOL and mcfee so only AVG runs at boot up. Let it check your system as I know Mcafree and AOL are problematical . If you don't want to do that then googlesearch symantec security check and let that run. AVG and Symantec are free to d/l and use and are 100% reliable and accurate and can correct any spyware for no cost.
