Hygena Gas Hobs - no ignition

I have a 4 ring Hygena gas hob set in the worktop. I can hear the spark under the hob but the rings aren't sparking to ignite, what do I need to do?

Do you have a gas ignitor switch on the wall of your kitchen. You may have switched it off accidentally. If so, then that is why your hob won't ignite. Other than that I cannot think, unless your ignitor button runs on batteries.

sometimes when I clean mine there is a little bit of water left on the 'sparking bit' which stops it from igniting and if the tops of the individual rings haven't been put back on properly that will also stop it.

You should be able to see the 'sparking bit' that Jules mentions. If you don't see a spark there when you press the button, yet you still hear the sound, it means the insulation is faulty, and the spark is occurring somewhere inside the hob instead of beside the gas rings.
It may or may not be repairable, mine (not Hygena) wasn't. So now I use one of those gas lighter thingies you can get for a quid.

There may be a loose wire between the source of ignition, be it battery or mains. this would cause the spark to discharge to the nearest peace of metal inside the hob rather than your ignitors! Without looking its hard to tell tho!
