i have a lap top computer when i open it it says password but i dont now the password is there solution

Well someone must have set the password it did not just magically appear.

Is the laptop new to you or have you had it a while ?

Did it always have a password, or have you or someone else just set one ?

Has a friend, or one or your children perhaps, set a password for you (and not told you !!)

Is this a hardware password (in other words is the laptop asking you for it) or is it a Windows password, asking for one so you can log onto Windows.

if the above does not work... you could reinstall the OS. As a last option....

When you turn on the laptop, hold down the key that allows you to enter the bios (could be Escape or a Function key, but it will flash up quickly before Windows loads). You then need to load Windows in Safe Mode and that will allow you to access the User Accounts in the control panel and delete the password or the account that the password is on.

Then just re-boot in to Windows as normal.
